Tightwad Tuesday-Frugal Decorating Tips
One of my favorite ways to decorate my house is by shopping at Goodwill. We have several around here, and each store is different. In my recent shopping trips I have found brand new curtains for my bedroom for $2.00, exquisite art prints in frames for $5.00 (these are the ones that would cost you around $60-$70 if purchased in a retail store), and a really nice oak bookshelf for $10.00.
I also scout out yard sales. You can find some really nice wall hangings, furniture, and decor for a fraction of what you would pay for it in the store. Here is a site I found on the Internet today while scouring around. Garage Sale Hunter will help you locate any garage sales going on in your area.
Where do you purchase your frugal decor? Leave me a comment and let me know. I am always looking for new places to find items to decorate my home with.

I have also found nice things at Salvation Army, local thrift shops (we have some here that are nice and some that are not so nice), estate sales (these are really good for this type of thing or for old books, cooking stuff and home furnishings) and auctions (I have a friend that does auctions and she knows what I like and use, so she emails me when they are having that type of stuff in an auction and then I go to it saves me taking both kids and not getting anything). Sometimes you can get nice things at craft sales too but usually they are out of price range but they can give use good ideas to make it yourself
I’ve found that Yard Sale Search has the most number of listings available (with maps). Some of the other sites out there are pretty thin on listings, particularly accurate ones.
