Tightwad Tuesday-Frugal Party Ideas
One of the best frugal party ideas that I can testify to is allowing your kids to have a sleepover. If you plan right, you can have the best party with little or no cost to you. Here are some of my favorite tips.
- Make your own cake. For about $4.00, you can make a beautiful cake that looks as good as the ones in the store. And if you use coupons, you can get it even cheaper! Your family will be blessed because not only did you save money, but you made it with your own two hands!
- Print our your own party invitations. Let’s face it. Those invitations that you purchase at the store can get pretty expensive. There are many websites on the internet that offer free invitation printables for kids. One of my favorite is Dltk-Cards. For just a small cost of ink and paper, you can print your own.
- Make your own party favors. Theme your party and build your favors around the theme. I remember one year, we threw a baking party. Everything was built around baking. We went to the Dollar Store and purchased some inexpensive dollar gifts to give as party favors that went with the theme and it turned out to be a huge sucess.
- Instead of ordering pizza from a local pizzeria, why not make your own? For just a few dollars you can purchase the ingredients (if you stock your pantry, you might even have them already) and have a make your own pizza night! The kids will love getting their hands in the dough and helping to make their meal.
You can have a great party on a limited budget. It will take time to plan and look for those great resources, but you can do it!
