Works for me Wednesday

January28

This is an extremely simple thing, but it has sure worked for me for years! I got tired of rummaging around my utensil drawer for measuring cups and spoons, and got tired or replacing cheap sets when one of the cup or spoon sizes went missing. So, about 10 years ago I bought a set of stainless steel measuring cups and spoons at TJ Maxx, and put stick-on hooks inside my spice/baking cupboard door. The cups and spoons nest inside each other, and are always hanging right where I need them, all together, and as good as new.

Saves time . . . saves money . . . works for me!

My mom did the exact same thing while we were growing up. But I didn’t learn from her; I’m always searching in my drawer! Thanks for the reminder!

You’re right–this is brilliant. Over here, it’s that my husband takes them clean from the dishwasher and puts them in a different drawer/cupboard every time, so I can’t find them. I wonder if he’ll respect the hooks?

I don’t have the room in my cupboards to do this, so what I have done is to put an “s” hook on the pan rack that my husband built me. The hook fits throught the hole in the handle of my sets and I hang them up. This also works for odd sized/shaped cooking utensils.
