Day 21~Thanksgiving Decor
One of the best things we can do as the keepers of our homes is to keep the Thanksgiving focus in the right place. And one of the best ways to do this is to put Scripture directly in front of us!
I am going through God’s Word and writing down all the verses I can think of that pertain to thankfulness. Next, I will type them up in a pretty font on my computer and then print them out. I have some Dollar Store frames in various sizes that I will use to frame these verses and then I will hang them on different walls around my home where they can be seen by everyone many times everyday.
My hope is that this will provide a warm and loving atmosphere, filled with the joy of the Lord; and that it will help us all to hide God’s Word in our hearts during this season. My hope is for continued meditation on His goodness to us throughout the coming weeks. For guests also, this will provide a focal point for conversations and—I pray—it will spur my guests further on in their walks with the Lord, giving encouragement when needed. Who knows? Maybe the Lord will even use these framed Scriptures to lead one of my guests to Himself!
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also were called in one body, and be thankful.” —Colossians 3:15
“Let us be thankful, then, because we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be grateful and worship God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe…” —Hebrews 12:28
“Be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.” —1 Thessalonians 5:18
“Save us, O LORD our God, and bring us back from among the nations, so that we may be thankful and praise your holy name.” —Psalm 106:47
“May all who come to you be glad and joyful. May all who are thankful for your salvation always say, ‘How great is God!’” —Psalm 70:4
“May all who come to you be glad and joyful. May all who are thankful for your salvation always say, ‘How great is the LORD!’” —Psalm 40:16
“Say to him, ‘Save us, O God our Savior; gather us together; rescue us from the nations, so that we may be thankful and praise your holy name.’” —1 Chronicles 16:35
Now that’s decor I can get excited about, how about you?
What are your latest projects for your Thanksgiving home decor?

That is such a WONDERFUL idea!!! I am definitely going to do this! I think this would be such a lovely and inexpensive Christmas gift too. Thank you!
Awesome!
I had a beautiful calendar from Our Daily Bread one year, and the photos were breathtaking. I loved the scriptures on them as well.
I bought poster frames at the dollar store and cut my favorites out of that calendar and have them hanging around my house.
Love the Word!
Fantastic idea! I am going to take the verses you have shared, add a few more and use them as place setters for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Each person’s name will be on the top with the verse directly below. I have small 3×3 frames I use for marking places at the table. Perhaps we can have the children read a verse or 2 and talk about them.
Thanks for the great idea!
This year I am using my Cricut machine to make decorations for our home
I am also using some left over ceramic tiles we have and using the rub on wall words like Welcome to put on them and then hand stamping leaf images around the word. I love the verses you shared above, thank you!

ps- I LOVE your blog, newletters and the Money Saving Digests!
I am going to hunt for some nice frames at the thrift store for this project. We need some inspirational words around here. And Dorothy- what a great idea to use them as place settings!
thank you for an encourageing way to display Gods word.I read my bible this morning and came to the computer with the idea to print out thankfullness scripture and read your ideas and thought how neat God works,i love the idea for place settings with names and scripture, thank you.
What a lovely idea! I have been slowly decorating the multi-purpose rooms we use at our church for classes, meetings, and children’s services, and it is challenging to come up with decor that is appropriate for both adults and children and that is uplifting and supports our mission. This is exactly what we need! Can’t wait to get to work on it. Thanks for blessing us with this suggestions.
Peace be with you,
MaryAnn
