Day 28~Thanksgiving Decor

For Thanksgiving this year I wanted to make my home as warm and cozy as possible, so I got started last week and we are all enjoying our new decor.
It doesn’t have to cost a bunch to get your home all “dolled-up” for this time of year. In fact, I used what I had and supplemented with dollar-store finds. I went to the dollar store and found leaf garlands and a little stuffed pumpkin person that is highly touchable and huggable so the kids can give it a squeeze every time they walk by it if they want! It is so important that we remember that we are doing this for our family, not just to please ourselves. By adding in something plush and huggable, and allowing my children to help with the arranging of our new decor, my children will have warm memories of our home during the seasons. And aren’t those memories and warm-fuzzies what decorating for autumn and Thanksgiving should evoke in the hearts and minds of our children?
I found this website recently that has the most adorable farmhouse decor for fall. I absolutely love her chalkboard in the kitchen that she changes with the seasons! I’ll be taking a bit out of my grocery budget for this next week to get something similar and the supplies necessary to create one of these in my own home. Go check it out! I’m sure you’ll be glad you did. Her home is so joyful, fun, and beautiful this Thanksgiving season. I hope it helps you in your planning as you decorate for those you will be gracing with the warmth of your own home this year!
