My very best baby tip is not frugal, but well worth it.
I LOVE the Beco butterfly carrier. It is the only carrier that I have found to be useful with a 1 day old all the way to a 3 year old (40lbs). I wish I would have known about it before trying all of the other carriers out there.
The month before your baby is due, stock up the freezer with meals. That way when you are too tired to make food, you will have some in the freezer!
Our best investment was a pack of thick, square cloth diapers. Not only were they good for using with the baby (wiping spit-up, etc.), but we used them later for dusting, drying dishes and other household jobs!
The best thing I’ve found for baby constipation is steamed plums. We discovered this on accident, but it works like a charm
Also after steaming fruit and veggies, I freeze some of the water in ice cube trays. I add the melted cubes to her other meals (in place of plain water) for added nutrients.
Homemade baby wipes are THE BEST! Just cut a roll of quality paper towels in half, pull out the cardboard tube, and put into a plastic container (w/ a lid). Mix together 1 cup warm water, 1 Tbsp of your favorite liquid baby soap, and 1 Tbsp your favorite baby oil. Pour this over the paper towels, pop the lid on, and let sit for a couple hours–long enough for the liquid to be absorbed. My friend shared this with me after my second baby–it was a wonderful gift!
Ahem, this may sound unsanitary, but I assure you it is not……. and new moms need to know this. If your baby is just pee-peed (that’s the technical term I think), do not use a wipe. Urine is sterile and the alchohol in wipes can dry their skin and kill the good bacteria that keeps yeast in check. Baby will have less yeast infections if you save wipes for the stinky diaper changes………
Homemade baby food is the best and not all that difficult. Mush up the food add water to get desired consistency, feed baby. Freeze extras in ice cube trays. One of my kids favorites was: banana with kiwi, sounds weird but it actually tastes good.
It’s taking me a long time to learn this, but it’s so true! Taking the time to love on our children makes everything else worth it.
“Quiet down cobwebs
Dust go to sleep
I’m rocking my baby
and babies don’t keep”
My very best baby tip would be that you can put most newborn nightgowns on a baby FEET FIRST! Took me 6 babies to figure it out, but it is so much easier than trying to get it over their head. We are cloth diapering our toddler and getting ready to start the new baby on cloth. These would be so helpful to have! Thanks!
Do I get another entry if I already subscribe to your newsletter? Because I do.
My tip is to not worry too much about baby clothes. I had a few unisex onesies and nightgowns when my third child was born. She is now 2 1/2 months old and I’ve been given tons of clothes. For the next 2 years, I’ll only be buying holiday outfits. I think most people are happy to pass on clothes. Otherwise, you can find great deals at garage sales and the clearance rack.
Instead of using jarred baby food, bought or homemade, we just gave our daughter table food when she showed interest and could sit up well, and grab and feed herself. We attribute this with the reason she wasn’t picky like our older son, who we gave jarred baby foods starting at four months. It’s also healthier for their GI systems to wait at least until six months.
I blogged about your giveaway!
My very best baby tip is to enjoy your baby – everday! They grow so fast!

My best baby advice is to do what works for your family without guilt. There is lots of wisdom to be gleaned from others, but evaluate everything you hear and read with your family in mind. Your baby was given to you, not to Mary down the street, or Jodi whose blog you read, or even that family member who wants you to do _____.
I would love to be entered. I have never tried Bumgenius or a one-size diaper. I think a one-size diaper is a great idea.
Making your own baby food saves money and also helps ensure the very best for your baby. You can get more exotic foods than the jars allow too. I would mash up avocado, put in ice cube trays freeze and pop out. My little ones loved some avocado with their oatmeal cereal
.

best thing for me frugal….is to swap stuff with friends….I have not had to buy things like a stroller, swing, bumbo seat and hardly any clothes….also we pass on unused soaps, lotions etc…
free babysitting between the group….
My most frugal tip would be making your own baby food. We have always just bought vegetables and fruit. Cooked them and then purrayed them in the blender with the amount of water to make the desired consistency for your baby. We freeze them in ice cube trays, pop out and then store in a zip lock bag. Each ice cube makes about 1 oz of baby food. When it’s time to eat just defrost the appropriate amount of food and the kinds you want to feed your baby. It’s super easy and cheap!!
My best baby tip is to get into the habit of attending to your newborn’s needs *before* they get to the point of crying. The moment they begin to wake and wiggle around, check their diaper and begin the changing or feeding routine as needed. It doesn’t take long for them to learn that all they need to do is wiggle and grunt and Mama will come take care of them. Save the crying for when it is truly necessary.
Best baby tip still is to sleep when baby sleeps. love those afternoon naps!
I found baby wash cloths work great for baby wipes.
My best baby tip is to cover your child and everything you do in prayer. The Lord created this child and he is the one who can best care for him. He will give you what you need, when you need it, whether that be strength to make it through another long night or a solution when nothing else is working. You don’t need to run to Oprah, Parenting magazine, or the so called experts. When you need guidance, run to the one who knows the plans he has for that child. If you are seeking the Lord in everything concerning your child, everything else will work out better.

My frugal baby tip would be to use cloth for anything you possibly can. Cloth diapers, cloth wipes, cloth changing pads, and even cloth for mama! If you sew there are tons of free patterns out there to make your own, you can even use old fabrics from around the house to make them.
Another tip I want to share is to take as many pictures as you can. Take at least one picture every week, they grow so incredibly fast! If you have a digital camera this makes it easier to take many pictures and then print the ones you love best.
I get your newsletter and I tweeted you and shared on facebook also
Enjoy your time with your newborn! If people stop in and they ask if they can help, take them up on it! Or ask ahead for anyone who wants to come visit please bring a meal for our family. Your body needs to heal and your baby will benefit with the time you spend with them
When flying to visit family out of state, get them to borrow baby gear from their friends – pack-n-play to sleep in, stroller, car seat if they know the person really well and know it wasn’t in any accidents, etc. Not only does this save you money on baggage fees but it’s less you have to lug around in the airports.

I found that middle of the night diapers changes were made easier and faster by using warm water from a coffee/tea carafe to wet a washcloth rather than waiting for my tap water to get warm at 4am (which can take a while in a two story home). Boiling water stays too hot, just warm tap water in the carafe before you go to bed for the night is perfect. Happy diaper changing!
Enjoy holding your baby. Don’t worry if the house is clean. They are little for such a short time.

Cook and stock the freezer before baby comes, when doing so also write on each individual meal what it is, and how to prepare it from the state it is currently in. That way whomever is preparing the dish whether it be you or a neighbor no one is searching through cookbooks to figure out what to do next
Also learn to babywear! With 6 children 8yo and under and #7 on the way, it sure helps to have hands free and still be snuggling baby!
Give cloth diapering a try! I found it a little over a year ago and love it! I have now had 3 dc in cloth and cant wait to cloth my newest blessing!
My thrifty tip is to take all those baby washcloths you get every time you have a baby and use them as wipes. Just wet with water, and wash with your dipes.
I learned, when my husbands hours got cut this summer, how to make my own prefolds from things around the house. You can take an old 100% cotton shirt to make it, or flannel shirts. I made one out of a white cotton shirt then used a footie sleeper to embellish the outside of it so the snappi would work(wouldn’t hook on my shirt for some reason)
I signed up for your news letter
My best baby tip is to join MOMYS.com. It’s a great support group for large families..and a wealth of information to someone just starting out.
) ~mom to soon-to-be seven kiddos, 12 & under
With baby #5 on the way I have learned that less is MORE! My most frugal baby tip is to really think about whether you need all of those “things” they sell for babies now a days. I always wondered why my first 2 kids were so cranky….and well I think they were overwhelmed with too much “stuff”. With my last 2, and defintely this little one due in Jan, I only buy the bare minimum. If I want to try a bouncy seat I borrow one first to make sure the baby will like it before spending all of that money!
I also posted about this on Facebook
I never buy the store boxed mac and cheese products. Instead, I make a huge pot of mac and cheese in the slow cooker with evaporated milk, regular milk, noodles, velveeta and shredded cheddar cheese. I keep some out for the week and freeze the rest in plastic containers. Depending on the size of your slow cooker, you could have enough mac and cheese to last for months.
just shared this on my facebook page! So excited to give these a try.
My favorite things: Lansinoh Lanolin Nursing Cream and plain cloth diapers. If you sew, the diapers can be made into burp cloths, nursing pads, or changing pads. There are several free patterns out there online.
Best tip I was ever given is for Mom and Dad. Take a Date night at least ONCE a month! This gives you time together to recoup and get ready for whatever is coming next. my husband and I have not been able to stick to this EVERY month but most of the time we do. We use our time together sometimes to just sleep! Sometimes we talk about whats going on with the kids and get a game plan on whatever it is I can’t get a handle on like Tantrums and climbing out of bed at night to play! and otehr things like that. Then we know we are team and can work together. It also gives us time to discuss what we could do better for each other and help more. My husband never had a father around and so I have to remind him I am NOT a single mom. LOL. I sometimes have to literally tell him where I need help and HOW to help.
One of my favorite baby tips is that if patting your baby on the back for burping doesn’t seem to work, you can try patting them on the bottom. This may seem like the obvious to some
, but I thought it was a pretty neat tip shared with me by my mother! My husband and I still have several months before our first is to be born, so this tip isn’t coming from a very experienced momma (well my mom told me.) However, I have seen this work for other mothers and have found it to work when caring for little ones.
I didn’t know if it was necessary to put this, but I subscribed to your newsletter today as well.
Sleep with your babies up until at least 5 months. I’ve never missed sleep due to my babies keeping me up. They sleep good when they still hear that heart beat of mama and can nurse whenever. The cuddling time is so precious!

best baby tip huh- frugal huh- well, nurse your baby if you are physically able
My best frugal baby tip is: don’t waste time and energy defrosting frozen peaches for your teething little one! For example: Frozen peach slices. Open bag, place 2 slices on baby’s tray, let little one get the soothing of cold peaches on gums as s/he gnaws on it, without the slippery hard-to-hold quality. My little girl loves them!
Use your camera to take short video clips of your baby and store them sorted well on the computer. Pictures are fun to look back on, but short video clips add a totally different element. We love doing this, even my (now one-year-old) baby loves watching them.
I’ve done a lot of different things to parent frugally, most of which have already been mentioned. The best thing for real money savings has been cloth diapering. Making my own has really saved a lot. Try freecycle and craigslist for cast off flannel sheets, wool sweaters and coats, etc. to provide free material for cloth diapers and covers. I use regular washclothes for wiping instead of baby washclothes or fancy wipes. I bought a 24 pack at Walmart for just a couple of bucks. The other frugal tip I have is to consider the value of your time. Sometimes we frugal moms spend so much time trying to save money that we forget that time with baby is priceless. I posted on facebook and I also blogged about the contest! http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/juditupp/739113/

My best baby advice is not frugal advice but still valuable. During those first weeks with your new baby, when a family member offers to watch the baby for a few hours so you can rest, ACCEPT! I learned this the hard way b/c I am so stubborn but those extra few hours of sleep really go a long way.

Best tip I can give is that on top of the sheet in the crib lay down a flannel blanket. It makes a difference when baby comes from laying againgst your nice warm body to a cold sheet and the flannel blanket cuts down on that.
Just tweeted!
I purchased a wipe warmer with my third child and boy – it was such a soother for my son – rather than a startling jolt from Mom in winter. I highly recommend.
My frugal tip is to make your own cloth wipes, to use instead of shop bought disposable baby wipes.
WHY:
to decrease the amount of chemicals put on your baby’s skin
to decrease what you send to the rubbish tip
to decrease what you spend on wipes
The shop bought ones are often soaked in chemicals like propylene glycol, which irritates many baby’s skin. The first six weeks, we used them, and my daughter had constant nappy rash. I switched to using cloth wipes and water, and the nappy rash disappeared.
HOW:
To make your own cloth wipes
Measure a facewasher/flannel – say that’s 35 x 35cm
cut out pieces of cotton terry, bamboo terry, hemp terry, for the “grippy side”
cut out pieces of cotton velour, bamboo velour, thick flannelette for the “absorbent side”.
sew together one “grippy side” fabric with one “absorbent side” fabric, you could just overlock around the four sides. or if you don’t have an overlocker, sew around three sides inside out, turn it the right way out, and sew the fourth side together showing the stitching.
each time you change your baby, wet a wipe.
At newborn stage, i had a stack of these wipes near the changetable, along with a spray bottle of water, when changes were very frequent.
As baby got older, i kept the stash of wipes in the bathroom, and on my way to change baby, would wet and wring out a wipe in the bathroom and take it to the nursery room.
Where i would have to use maybe SIX disposable slippery little suckers for one messy poo change, i found i only had to use ONE cloth wipe, they were much more effective, and kept my own hands cleaner too.
so for many reasons, a very simple sewing task, could be, to make your own homemade wipes.
i used a Little Squirt to rinse the used wipes, at the same time as i Little Squirted the cloth nappies, threw it all in the nappy drypail, then washed them all in the nappy wash load.
The wipes (and nappies) came out the wash looking very clean, so that converted me on the spot.
i am not a very experienced sewer, but i can sew straight lines (sort of!), so even if you are really new to sewing, don’t be afraid to give it a go!
if i win the bumgenius, my child is toilet trained now, but i know plenty of people with newborns, that i would gift them on to.
i am already on your newsletter list, i don’t tweet, so i will add your link to my Facebook.
cheers

My best frugal advice for any mum is to look after herself and save money because you wil need it, also a capsule- even though they only last 6 months or up to 10 kg, they are excellent i believe that my baby sleeps through the night and still has 2 sleeps a day because we never disturbed her while being on the go!!! We were always out and about i think they are great..

I already get the newsletter… so please enter me for that.
I posted on my blog, and on FB! I have been drooling over her diapers for a while!
My frugal tip for moms is to not overdo on the clothes, or baby equipment. Cut back on how many outfits, and do you really need, for example a swing AND a baby bouncer?
New toys are not necessary. A plastic cup will entertain a baby for a long time. It is amazing how many baby safe items are around the house in everyday use that amuse little ones!
If you at least part time EC, you can cut down on diaper use and potty train the child more quickly. There are some major savings in washing dipes!
Oops.. that was more than one. Sorry!
crossing my fingers here for those wonderful diapers!
One good tip that I was given is to use pumped breastmilk and ground rice (precooked is best) to make your own rice ceral, no extra additives, and all you need is a clean grinder.

Looks like so many great tips are already mentioned…but I will add one that made my transition from 1 to 2 children (and later 3) so much easier.. invest in a wearable sling of some sort or make your own..I preferred the wrap style, but try several and see what you like. They can often be found 2nd hand for a fraction of the cost!!
My best tip that hasn´t yet been mentioned would be to invest in a baby wrap. They are cheap, simple to use and are a pleasant way to carry your baby close to Mommy without the strain on your back. Also making your hands free to do whatever needs to be done around the house, or on a shopping trip etc.
For a more frugal option, you can simply make one by cutting a bed sheet and sewing along the perimeter.
Thanks for a great giveaway!!
I’d encourage new moms to invest in a comfortable way to wear your baby, like a wrap, a sling, or an Ergo.
My favorite is the Ergo and it’s worth every cent! It allows you and your child to be close and comfortable and still do most all normal daily activities.
I’m a subscriber to the newsletter.
Almost all my thoughts I had already have been taken. I really like the homemade baby wipes idea or using baby washcloths.
My advice is do not give up on nursing. I hear of so many moms who struggle with it and give up in a few months or less. There is so much support out there if you look. La Leche League even has a helpline you can call and in Lincoln, NE we have a wonderful store call Milk Works all for nursing with lactation consultants, bras galore, products, and support groups.
Found great help here with video and tips. wonderful wonderful sight last time I went to it 2 years ago and will use it again here in the next couple months as my third arrives.

I had just about every problem in the book with my first son and nursing but I was stubborn and nursed him 13 mo. I pumped and he never had an ounce of formula. My second went better, still had issues, not as easy with a huge chest, but we made it 14 mo. He only had formula in infant cereal and he got constipation so bad thatI am completely turned off from formula. God designed our milk for our babies and I trust Him a whole lot more than those companies out there. But I know it is a life saver for those who can’t nurse but if you can… do it!
Also, this 3rd child is a girl after 2 boys and I was given a wonderful tip to take boy jeans or plain shirts and add lace or appliques to girl it up. There are so many cute designs out there now.
The only thing I am really asking for for this baby is cloth diapers for my upcoming baby shower besides basic needs.
such a money saver. I enjoy recycling so it is rewarding in that sense too to keep all that human waste and diapers out of the landfills. Thanks for the great contest idea!
Something that works for me…avoid clothing that you have to pull over the head (what a pain!). Use sleepers that snap up the front…zippers are even better! Oh…and never wake a sleeping baby : )

It its your first child sleep when the baby sleeps!!!
What a cool giveaway. I have been wanting to try cloth diapers for a little while and haven’t had the guts to do it. Maybe this will be the kick in the butt I need.
The thing I tell every new mother is to teach their baby to sleep in a PackNPlay. Teach the baby to sleep without their help. Teach their baby to be flexible!!
Simplify, simplify, simplify!! Amazingly, we don’t need all the great “time savers” and things to make life with baby “easier.” After having had 5 children, I find that the less stuff, the easier life is!
My frugal baby tip is to buy neutral colors whenever possible, especially if you plan on having more than one child. Buy neutral in burp cloths, blankets, sheets, bibs, onesies, play equipment, car seat, stroller, etc. Save your gender specific colors for cute outfits for church and special occasions. This will save you a ton of money since you can reuse those neutral items for every baby. Also, when it is time to pass them on to another family, you won’t have to worry if they will be gender appropriate!
Almost all my thoughts I had already have been taken. I really like the homemade baby wipes idea or using baby washcloths.

My best advice is to follow God and how He created family. Stay home with your children. If your husband provides shelter, food, clothes, and heating in the winter; no woman needs anything more {1 Timothy 6:8}. Be cheerful and content {1 Timothy 6:6-8} with the basics. {Eccl. 4:6; 5:12}. Breast feed your babies. It’s the best way because God created it {Isaiah 66:12-13}. Never use commercial ’soaps’ or shampoo on your baby (or the rest of the family). Use all natural truly real soap for skin and scalp. Condition baby skin and scalp with olive oil.
Because it is a fallen world, not every mother can breastfeed. Every mother can consider a wet nurse {Exodus 2:7,9} since breast milk is superior to man-made formula. This went out of style here in the 1800s but many countries still practise wet nursing today. Pray and shop organic for any food you would not peel. God has always been faithful to us. “Great is His Faithfulness” Only buy and prepare natural unprocessed wholefoods for your family. Never prepare factory food for the family and always cook at home. Buy raw milk whenever you can. Whenever the Holy Bible mentions “milk” it never means the highly processed nutrient deficient milk on the grocery shelves today. (Raw milk can even reverse tooth decay.)
Stick with what the Lord provides for health and good stewardship with the resources He has provided your family.
Humble yourselves and never say I deserve this or that because I earned it because it all comes down to that essentially the Lord provides everything good in your life. He gives health to work, he gives work to your husband. Be content and faithful in well-doing enduring til the end. Selah.

My best baby tip is to use a wrap to carry your baby in. Just take 6 yards of a comfortable, breathable fabric cut it iin half and hem it. there are a ton of websites to show you how to use your new wrap and believe me they are more comfortable than any other baby carrier out there. I have used them with two of my kids and I’m never going back.
I would love to try cloth diapering this time around, especially as I’m losing my job this week when our plant shuts down…
Most of my advice is already in previous comments, but here are a few I haven’t seen yet:
I would definitely recommend craigslist and swapping with friends when looking for baby items for your first – and you need way less than “they” say you need – talk to friends who have children and get advice as to what they couldn’t live without. Only buy a few newborn sized outfits, they outgrow them so quickly and people will buy you clothes as gifts when the baby arrives. And most importantly, relax and enjoy!
my very best baby tip…is to breast feed exclusively for as long as you can get away with it, skip the baby food and go straight to soft table foods. I have done this since my 4th baby (waiting for baby #10 to be born) and I don’t have any picky eaters or allergies and all of my children are healthy and happy.

My best frugal tip (that hasn’t already been mentioned)… would have to be: Don’t buy clothes every 3 months for your newborns, or even every 6 months for your toddlers. There is not much size difference between them. As cute as it is, babies don’t need to wear shorts and short sleeves. Just dress them comfortably in warm clothes year round. When you go out in the winter, baby will have a jacket/suit on. And in the summer, baby needs to be covered as well (whether it is protection from the sun or inside with the ac on). I cannot believe how much money I have wasted buying every size in every season for my first 4 children!
I posted your contest on my face book page
Frugal Baby tip
Breast feed you baby for as long as possible. Make your own baby food by blending veggies, fruit, etc in the blender. Best if you take a small portion out of your family’s meal to mix up for baby.
My frugal baby tip has already been mentioned, but it’s helped us out greatly! Avoid all things disposable. We use cloth diapers, cloth wipes, cloth nursing pads, and reuseable breastmilk storage containers. I’m amazed at the amount of money we’ve saved by making these little changes.
When my son was born, I really appreciated the polo shirts that snapped like a onesie. However, his little dress shirts would always come untucked from his pants. I solved this problem by cutting off a 3 inch ring from outgrown onesies and sewing it onto the bottom of the shirts. (I found out from experience not to sew the onesie all the way in the front if the shirt was not stretchy.) This was VERY helpful, and my cutie always looked ‘put together.’
To boost your milk supply – eat oats! Just a simple bowl of oatmeal will have my supply doubled within one to 2 days, so take it easy.
Especially if it’s not your first, a great baby shower idea is to have everyone bring a freezer meal (already frozen).
What great tips! I’ve used a lot of them with mine. One of my frugal baby tips is to pick up extra receiving blankets at the goodwill (the flannel type) and cut them either in half or fourths to use as washcloths, spit rags, and to wipe noses. I keep a bunch in the top drawer of my son’s dresser even now that he’s a toddler and they’re great for wiping his face (especially if he has a cold and has been crying- double the mess!).
Making baby food or just feeding table food is also a great tip. Baby #2 I hardly ever bought store made baby food.
And I already get your newsletter
I found out about this giveaway from my newsletter subscription.
And I posted this on Facebook!
My favorite baby products are a sling, a co-sleeper, and cloth diapers!! They are only little bitty for such a short time, and the bonding time is irreplaceable.
I also make my own baby food and breast feed for their first year. When they are old enough to drink out of a sippy cup (usually around 5-6 months), I let them get used to them, so we never use bottles.
Many veggies can be steamed until mushy, and mixed with a bit of breast milk for first foods.
We trade clothes with friends! And I love big fluffy head bands and socks, which are so easy to make. You can use old pantyhose as the head band (cut a strip, and then sew the ends together), and sew or glue bows out of ribbon onto the top (to cover the seam). And just sew some ribbon onto plain socks!
Also, you can make receiving blankets special by crocheting a single row, and then sewing it onto the blanket.
I also pair up older children with younger children, so everyone has a buddy to help them, so that I am not too overwhelmed
Someone mentioned this already but it’s so true: enjoy your baby. Before you know it he’ll be 21 like my oldest will be tomorrow! Holding him, telling him stories, counting his fingers or toes – these are all free and are a fun way to bond!
Aslo, use a clothes line. This saves money on electricity and can help bleach the diapers without destroying the fabric like Clorox can.
Breast feed!!! The absolute best milk for baby and you’re going to eat anyway so it doesn’t cost anything. also good bonding time!
I agree with Michelle in OK: nurse as long as possible and go straight to soft table foods. I have done this with my last 4 and plan to do it with my newest baby who is 10 weeks old. It’s not necessary or even the best idea to start cereals and such at 4- 6 months. I learned to wait until the baby could sit up on his own and show signs that he wanted to eat off my plate. mashed potatoes, bananas, mashed beans or peas all make good baby food.
Best baby advice? Instead of wasting money on a sling or whatever to carry your baby; make your own. A simple wrap can take as little as 4-5 yards of cotton or terrycloth fabric that has been hemmed. Or if you are crafty you can find many different patterns on-line for free. Just be sure to practice with them before Baby is ever put in them.

My best baby tip has to do with nursing. When I am finished nursing, I place my burp cloth on the side of the boppy that I need to start with. So say I have nursed on the left side, I would put the cloth on the right side of the boppy or side of the chair that I would be sitting in. Really helps during those late at night feedings! Thanks for the giveaway.
The most frugal baby wipes ever – homemade wash cloths. When you need one, just get it wet. After using it, throw it in with your dirty diapers. No need to buy anything…..all you use it water.

my tip is to make sure to have someone else in the house to help you at least for the first week after you have a baby because you will need help adjusting!

I guess my furgal tip is for all those precious baby clothes they start to outgrow or that look a little too well loved – cut them into squares for a quilt! I can’t say that mine is anywhere close to being done, but after having four babies, I have quite a stash of quilting material and wonderful memories when I look at the fabrics!

Cherish EVERY moment! You can never give your baby too much love! They grow up WAY TOO FAST, so don’t give yourself any room to look back and wish you had “just snuggled a little more”!
A spoiled baby is one that’s not loved and snuggled enough! So wear them, hold them, cuddles them, snuggle them!
As for a frugal tip; Make your own baby wipes! They are not only a LOT cheaper, but they are also better for your baby, and you know exactly whats in them! (No worries of harsh Chemicals!)
You can either make some out of Flannel and/or Terry cloth (use old sheets, towels, shirts ect.. if you have them!), Or you can buy a simple inexpensive pack of baby face cloths!
I then make up a simple solution, to use in a small spray bottle, which can be sprayed directly onto babies bottom, then wiped off! There are many different recipes out there for wipe solution, but I have found this to be quite effective (no more rashes here!)
Mix together the following;
1 1/2 cups of Water
2-3 Tbsp Olive oil (this is safe to use with cloth diapers, and is very good for the skin)
2 drops Lavender Essential Oil
1.0 ml of Grapefruit Seed Crush (about 1 dropperfull)
I store this in a Mason Jar under my bathroom sink, to refill my spray bottle as needed!

new moms: if you truly need to be frugal my best advice is this,
you will not use half the stuff you HAVE to have. Ask a mom with a couple children to go shopping with you and you’ll realize that so much cute stuff is just cute and expensive not useful.
i have 5 and baby number one is spolied rotten in everyfamily
My best frugal tip is to make your own yogurt. It is easy, cheap, and delicious!

I already added a tip for the giveaway but I thought of another. It’s not really frugal, but just makes life easier – at least for me. I have a hard time going back to sleep if I get up and turn on lights. So I have a night light (LED and turns off during the day) in the hallway, nursery (crib is in our room, though), and bathroom. I have an LED lamp by the changing table that is just a tad brighter than the nightlight. I have to have her butt towards the lamp or there isn’t enough light to change her. After changing her, feeding her, and going to the bathroom myself, it’s much easier to get back to sleep (possibly for her, too) if no bright lights have been turned on. Also, I keep a reusable water bottle by the rocker and refill it every night before I go to bed so I have water to drink while I nurse her.
A good frugal tip for lightening diaper stain is using good old lemon juice then wash it as usual.

My frugal suggestion isn’t necessarily baby related but it can help offset the water used to wash cloth diapers! When waiting for your hot water to get to your shower/bath/kitchen sink, have a bucket waiting to catch the cold water. Use that water to water your household plants or even outdoor landscaping! You can save a lot of gallons a month doing that!

Hmm. Best baby tip. Don’t think you have to go out and buy everything that they say you will need for a baby. Say, “Yes please” when people offer hand-me-down clothes or bouncers or whatever. Then pass on what you don’t need.
The thing I am VERY happy I invested in, though, was a Mei Tai baby carrier. Mine cost $100 and was locally made by a WAHM (and was bought with a gift of money). I have loved it though. There is nothing that brings the two of us more comfort and security. I think a crafty person could probably make one with less frills for much cheaper. But it is the best baby equipment ever!

A great advice is to you olive oil for the baby – it’s so beneficial – it’s a good way to help with cradle cap, good for the baby’s bottom when he/she has a baby’s rash and also it’s a great moisturizer for the baby.
A tip someone gave me once is to put two sheets/mattress pads on your baby’s crib. (first, a waterproof mattress pad, then a sheet, followed by another waterproof mattress pad, topped with a final sheet). This way, in the middle of the night, if you need to change baby’s sheets b/c of an accident you don’t have to mess with putting new ones on b/c you already have a clean set underneath!
I would love to win this Bumgenius giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity!

My best tip would be to invest in a sling! I LOVE and my sister helped me make it so it only cost $6.50! I still use it SO frequently and my son is a year and a half old!
