Weekend Wonders
Since this weekend is Memorial Day weekend, I guess everyone decided to have garage sales because there were some great deals to be found everywhere.
Here is a list of the items I got:
- One new pair of Liz Claiborne jeans – $1.00
- Two Keedo dresses for my daughter (these retail for about $40.00 per piece) – $5.00 total, for both!
- A woven purse for the summer FREE!
- Two pair of capri pants – $1.00 each
- Navy Dockers and Levi jeans for my husband (both in excellent condition) – $1.00 each also!
- A grill to give to a friend for her birthday (yes, a grill! It is also in great working order) – $40.00 including the tank
- A big, FREE box of new three ring binders (we go through them quick around here)
- Another big FREE box of new, empty CD cases (my son loves to use these for his movie-making hobby!)
- White chenile fabric to finish off a project for my daughter’s room – $1.00
- Ann Taylor sweater – $2.00
If you saw my post on redecorating my laundry room, then you also know that many of the things in those pictures were found at garage sales this past week, as well, including wire freezer baskets (they look like something right out of Country Living Magazine or the Pottery Barn!). I got those for $0.50 each!
Here’s a picture of a few of my finds:
So, all in all, I spent $54.50 for all of those things (including the grill), the savings are incredible at these sales… I find it very difficult to pay full retail for most things now.
How about you? What things did you find this weekend? How much did you pay altogether?

I LOVE YOUR BLOG! I haven’t been out thrift shopping this weekend….but I did do very well with thrifty savings and freebies at the grocery store! I’ll be adding to your Mr. Linky list…hope it’s okay, since it’s not thrift shop/yard sale related.

Lady, we need to go shoppin’!
A couple of weekends ago, I got a pair of Keen sandals for my almost 3 yr old for $2.00, a pair of Pokemon water shoes for $1.50 and a pair of original crocs for $1.00. All 3 items were in near new condition and my DS is loving to wear all of them.
Love the blog! I even just added my own Weekend Wonder and I love reading about everyone else’s great finds!
i love getting new ideas on how to reuse items. I also added some of my own things that i do.
I saw your post on redecorating your bathroom with yard sale finds and it really inspired me. We had a little bit of work done on our bathroom last summer. A new sink, tub surround, and vinyl tile on the floor. Now a want to paint it and make it look really pretty. So after seeing your post about your bathroom I was able to pick up 2 framed pictures for $1 apiece with my bathroom in mind. And this weekend I plan on hitting more yard sales to see what else I can find. I will post more if I find more treasures.
