~Weekend Wonders~

May11

This is the day to share your weekend bargains; whether from yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, etc. Below are a set of bowls I found last weekend. I seem to have a “thing” for yard sale bowls. The low prices make them so difficult to pass up. In fact, I knew I didn’t “need” these, so ignored them the first time I walked by (it was a street long yard sale). I decided if they were still there when I came back, I’d get them. Sure enough, they were still there. And for $5, they are well worth it. I keep my yard sale and thrifted bowls on my cabinet soffits. Here are the bowls from this weekend.

Aren’t they pretty? They’re very large and have a kind of Tuscan feel.

Here are some of my other favorites. I generally pay $5 or less for a bowl or set.

This picture doesn’t do this pretty Gibson bowl justice. It has little flecks of color and is just beautiful.

I just liked the old fashioned look of these nice, heavy bowls.

Yes, I have more, but I’ll leave it at that. So, how about you? Did you find any bargains this weekend? Do you have anything you plan to refurbish or repurpose? If so, I’d love to hear about it.

It was much too wet for me to go yard-saling on Saturday, but Friday when I was out, there were a couple of yard sales. I got a couple of booster seats for my son to move up to in our car, a set of plastic shelves for their room, and a bunch of miscellaneous toys (Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine) — for $14 total. The sticker price on the seats and shelves was $16, not counting the toys, so I think I did pretty well. :-)

I didn’t take any pictures but I had a great day on Saturday. Found a church yard sale that had all you could pack in a grocery bag for 1.00 clothes sale. I got stuff for the whole family, including brand new dress pants for me for 6 cents each. yippee!!!

    Six Cents!! What a deal!

Molly, you should put your blog url on a button for Weekend Wonders and the code for the image so that people can post the graphic with their entries each week.
