That shrug is so cute! My 11yo daughter actually crocheted a different style shrug and posted a pic on her blog here: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/truthfulone/697811/ She used a pattern in a book that she checked out from the library. You can use any tee-shirts to create the yarn by cutting them in strips. If you want to make the curled T-yarn, the ones without side seams do work better but either way you can crochet with the strips you cut from any tee-shirts that you may have.
